Family Brunch – August 23
You and your family are warmly invited to attend the 2025 NDA CC Practice Race and Family Brunch. This is THE kickoff event of the year! Come out and cheer for the team and meet new runners and their families or rekindle your friendships in the cross country family. We will have a potluck brunch at Camp Gard after the practice race wraps up so we can refuel and connect! So bring the kids, a dish to pass (see the signup linked below) and your lawn chairs and prepare to have some fun.

The Simulated Race – parents and family invited to run too!
We don’t put pressure on anyone to perform at a high level. We have always used this as an opportunity to have our newest runners go through a simulated race preparation in a no pressure environment. We will explain how all of this works throughout the first days of practice. The name, Time Trials, is a bit misleading. – we don’t even time our runners – it is a fun morning. Attendance at Time Trails is mandatory so if you must be absent, please send us a Remind (Absence Reporting).
We invite any and all parents to join in the run and encourage alumni to join in as well.
What to wear: If you have racing flats (spikes), please wear them. Come dressed to race (shorts and comfortable shirt).
Two Rivers and they do not have a designated Varsity and JV race. There is a single race for boys and a single race for girls, therefore it is not necessary to determine a Varsity line up at time trials.
Summary Reminders for the Time Trial:
– We will be running two miles (not 5K distance).
– Bring spikes, if you have them.
– Do not wear your uniform. Wear clothing like you wear to practice.
– Bring water
– Bring dry socks for after the race
– Mosquitos have been plentiful in Colburn – pre-apply bug spray
– The bathrooms at the upper and lower shelters should be unlocked
